NEWS 4 April 06 Lots of news to report with the game! The plot is finally complete. It has proven to be a difficult task, and I never would have guessed it would take this long. At any rate, it is complete, and we are now working on the dialogue. Several people have asked whether we have contacted Robert Hirschboek in order to get him to reprise his role as Henry Stauf in The 13th Doll. We plan to do so, however we want to wait until the dialogue is complete before doing so. Music for the game is coming along well. Our composers have created a unique track for each room in the game, as well as another for each puzzle. When the time comes, they will also create tracks for each video segment as well. They really have outdone themselves, and I'm sure you will be impressed (even fans of the Fat Man)! The 3d modelers have made great strides in creating a great looking Stauf mansion, as well as a phenomenal asylum for the game's hero Tad. Their work is simply astonishing. Over half of the rooms are finished being modeled, with many others in progress. We'll post some images soon... We have decided on the final list of puzzles to be included in the game. Though we have not rendered graphics for them just yet, we've programmed a functional version of over half of them. We are working on designing specific board layouts in order to make them challenging, yet not enough to become frustrating or tedious. Ironically, this is a task that is both frustrating and tedious... At any, there are 26 puzzles planned for the game. Recently, we've had some questions about the game, and how we can potentially sell it, or profit from it. We respect the copyright holders, and the original game's cocreators Graeme Devine and Rob Landeros, who have been gracious enough to allow us to produce this game. The last thing we want to do is take advantage of them. We again want to state that the game will be freely available for download. On another note, we've recently been discussing filming the game. This presents a big challenge, and we have quite a task ahead of us... 10 October 05 New images of the mansion added to the downloads page! 9 October 05 Wow, it has been a while since we updated the news page! Don't worry, we're still hard at work on the game! We've made good progress lately. The 3d modelers have finished several rooms and continue to do more. The music department have created tracks for over half of the rooms in the game. The plot outline is complete, and we are in the final stages of writing details of the plot. We have several more puzzles programmed, as well as several new puzzle designs. The game engine is almost complete, and we are able to play portions of a storyboarded version of the game, as well as navigate the entire mansion using temporary screenshots from the original game. So even though we haven't updated the news page in some time, we're still making progress! 30 May 05 The 13th Doll has been featured in an article in the online gaming magazine The Inventory Issue 25! 18 May 05 Our forum has moved!
