Trilobyte announced the launch of a special 20th Anniversary Edition of The 7th Guest in partnership with MojoTouch yesterday. The Anniversary Edition has been re-mastered/upscaled to HD quality, has multiple music options (including an orchestrated score), better audio for voiceovers, and some bonus features, including deleted scenes and a copy of the original The 7th Guest novel. The user interface has been re-done as well in order to accommodate touch-screen devices. The entire game soundtrack by The Fat Man is available as well! For a full list of features, check out the YoutTube video below:
The app is old for $5.99 but is currently on sale for $3.99 as special launch pricing.
Any fan of The 7th Guest, The 11th Hour, or The 13th Doll, should run, not walk, to take advantage of the discount pricing.
On the morning of 2/2/2012, Trilobyte LLC, GOG.com (Good old Games), and DotEmu.com made an amazing announcement that rocked the very foundations of the earth. For the first time in over a decade, The 7th Guest and The 11th Hour are once again officially available on the PC!
The two games that revolutionized the PC gaming industry in the 90s have now come home in an official and supported manner.
While those who still have the original game discs can choose to run emulators to play the games, these official releases will enable those who no longer have their game discs and/or were never exposed to the games will finally have access to these classics.
The DotEmu site has already been updated and the games are available for purchase now. At the time of this article, GOG.com has yet to make any official announcement, though sources clearly point to the release coming soon.
From all of us here at The 13th Doll project, we congratulate Trilobyte on their return to the PC market, and look forward to seeing what the future may hold for Stauf and his puppets.
It is so good of you to stop by and visit again. I’m sorry that things look a bit disheveled and that the entrance is currently barred, but, do not be saddened by this. Renovations are almost complete, thanks to the designers here.
Let’s just say that I have a way of inspiring people. Call it a gift, a talent, or even a spell. But, I’ve been cracking the whip of late and things are going exactly according to my plan.
There has been some re-modeling in the crypt, the attic looks like it is taking on a new character and I’ve been designing some delightful puzzles and surprises for all of you.
So, please be patient while my friends here finish the re-model of the house. I can guarantee you the wait will be worth it. In fact, I think that you will find that once the house is ready, a visit would be to die for.
I also want to take a moment to mention that my friends over at Trilobyte Games have some exciting things brewing in their cauldron as well. There is rumor of yet another tour of my delightful home being planned for next year. There is also talk of a quiz game. Oh, you know how I adore puzzles! Please see their Facebook page for more details.
Oh, and please, do take care on this upcoming Halloween. After all, I wouldn’t want anything unfortunate to happen to you and I do so look forward to seeing you in the future. If anything were to happen per-maturely, I might find that, upsetting. You wouldn’t want to upset me now, would you?
First off, we hit over 200 members in our Facebook group a day or two ago! Thank you so much for your support and encouragement. Those numbers are amazing and are growing a little every day. We had no idea that so many people were out there and willing to support us.
We have also gained 2 new developers so, that is going to help tremendously in terms of moving things forward.
OK, now for the serious part of this post. We’re currently working with Trilobyte to sort out an official License for the game, which is really great news.
One of our goals in creating this game was to prove that there was still life in the T7G franchise, and to convince a developer to make an OFFICIAL T7G3. As you likely know, Trilobyte Games is back, and currently developing an official T7G3. That’s great news for all of us fans, and I’d like to think that The 13th Doll project played a role in it.
Anyway, with the return of Trilobyte, comes the need to protect the intellectual property of the 7th Guest franchise. The legal agreement is still being worked on, so nobody panic about any rumors, until a license is actually agreed upon and signed!
I do want to say that Trilobyte and Rob Landeros have been EXTREMELY gracious to us over the years – from providing advice on modeling techniques, to posting a link to us on his websites to working with us on the license! If anyone remembers the fiasco that King’s Quest IX went through, you’ll understand – and that is one of the few fangames met with legal issues that had a positive outcome.
So, thanks to Rob Landeros, and everyone at Trilobyte. Wish them luck with T7G3, and be thankful that they are allowing us to continue with our game!
Trilobyte has officialy released The 7th Guest: Infection for the iPad. The app takes the original microscope puzzle which couldn’t be included in The 7th Guest for iOS and scales it up with new features. These include a new graphical design, a new AI system and even a multiplayer mode!
The app is currently available for the apple iPad in the app store. The game is normally priced at $1.99 but, for the first 6 days it will be $.99. Take advantage of the lower price point to re-experience one of the most difficult puzzles of The 7th Guest.
Trilobyte does have plans to release the game for iPod touch and iPhone users in the coming weeks.
